PROVEN LEADERSHIP AND EXPERIENCE PAYS OFF FOR VILLAGE

Over $3 Million in Federal and State Grants Awarded

Unprecedented in Village

• $269,000 and $100,000 in stormwater control grants awarded to Village from the NYS Environmental Protection Fund.
• Three $100,000 grants awarded to the Village from the NY State Multimodal Fund to assist with roadway improve- ments.  State Senator Carl Marcellino provided guidance on grant applications.

Suffolk County Village Officials Association Mayor Paul Pontiero (President) and Mayor Lee Hairr (Vice President) caucus with Governor Spitzer at recent NYCOM Legislative session in Albany.

• $2.4 million in Federal Transit Fund Granted to Village for repaving West Neck Road.  Congressman Steve Israel's Staff assisted Village with Grant Application.  Senators Clinton and Schumer supported and President Bush signed.

State Senator Marcellino and Congressman Steve Israel came to the Village Police Station to present Mayor Hairr a symbolic check for federal transit funds.  The Village is receiving $2.4 million out of a total of $4.9 million in the Town
